wow!Prime Minister fighting discrimination

The battle against discrimination in soccer moves into Downing Street on Wednesday when Prime Minister David Cameron and Jeremy Hunt, the Minister for Sport, meeting senior soccer officials and representatives of anti-discrimination.
The idea of the roundtable, according to Downing Street, is to identify what can be done to make football more inclusive with the Government affirms its commitment to working with the football community as a whole to address and resolve problems .
“By recognizing that considerable progress has been made .. there is still much to be done through a wide range of issues,” Downing Street said in a statement before the meeting.
The meeting was organized following a rise in racist incidents this season, especially those involving high-profile Chelsea players John Terry and Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.
Terry is facing a trial court in July charged with race abuse Queens Park Rangers defender Anton Ferdinand in a Premier League match in October, a charge he denies.
Suarez was given an eight-match ban by the FA after racially insulting Patrice Evra of Manchester United in a League match, in the same month.
Wednesday, the government will also announce £ 3 million of funds to the new FA National Coaching Centre at St George’s Park.
The Downing Street Declaration continued: “The Centre will help to identify and train the next generation of coaches, with particular emphasis on ensuring that more coaches of blacks and ethnic minorities may enjoy the facilities and the progress in the professional game. ”
There were a number of recent initiatives to fight against discrimination, particularly homophobia in football.
Monday, the FA launched its action plan to address this area at the base and the community level, but the statement said, “more action is needed at a higher level.”
